Matterhorn Top II

We flew by helicopter up to Monte Rosa, skis and gear packed tight. From the drop-off, the descent began—endless white stretching out below us. As we skied down, the Matterhorn appeared in the distance, just a small peak on the horizon. The snow in front of us folded in soft, perfect layers, almost like a giant meringue cake.
